TROUBLESHOOTING: STORM CAFE WATER COOLER
Storm Café Brewing Only ½ Cup and Shuts Off.
Most probable causes; K Cup used has not been certified by Keurig needles used to puncture the K cup may not reach none certified K cups, the K cup pod holder has been lost or thrown away, no one has been cleaning the pod brewer portion resulting in clogged tubing and needles. Download the service manual and follow procedure to clean the brew portion.
Storm Café Fails to Brew Coffee and all tubing and needles are clear.
Note: Unit will not brew coffee if the hot tank switch is in the off position. Turn on hot tank switch. Wait approximately 10 minutes and brew coffee. If successful problem fixed if unit failed to brew disconnect power cord wait 30 seconds and attempt to brew coffee. If successful problem fixed if not will need to perform Fault Code Diagnostics.
Download Service Manual and locate Clearing Fault Codes. Select either 6, 8, 10 or 8, 10, and 12 ounce. Most important Hot Tank Switch must be in the off position to complete this test. Start test and follow instructions. Once first portion of test has been completed proceed with clearing fault codes. If fault clears unit is ready to brew. If not contact Tech Service to order correct replacement parts. Parts should be installed by a qualified service technician.
Pod Holder Missing Can I Brew Coffee?
No coffee can not be brewed without pod holder. Pod holder design is specific to the Storm Café and pod holders sold in stores are not compatible. Suggest ordering a 5 pack if unit is in a commercial setting.
Storm Cooler not dispensing water.
- Lift door up and check clear hose leading to Smart Flo. If hose is empty with only some water in the tube connection between the Smart Flo tube and bottle dip tube is not correct. Pump is pulling air ( Pump will be loud when pulling air). Disconnect hose and reconnect to see if issue is resolved. The Smart Flo and dip tube ( SUB-C200724) should be replaced on annual basis. If pump will not prime Smart Flo must be replaced.
- If hose is filled with water and pump can’t be heard when dispense handle depressed pump may have failed. Locate a service tech to repair the unit. Electrical repairs should be completed by certified technicians.
Storm is dispensing two streams of water.
Most likely fix the blue latch under the top cover has popped open. Open top lid and check blue latch. If open push down to lock it which will resolve problem. In the event that the latch hook or catch is broken the top shelf assembly would need to be replaced. Complicated repair locate service technician.
