TROUBLESHOOTING: STORM WATER COOLER
Storm Cooler Leaking.
Open top lid and check Steam Valve (gold kidney shaped item on left side of cooler) part # SUB-C200414 for leakage. Small pieces of internal float normally seen floating inside. Easy replacement part can be ordered thru Crystal Mountain customer service. Need to verify age of cooler thru serial number. Coolers manufactured in 2013 and older require an extension piece. Kit comes with replacement instructions.
Storm Cooler not dispensing water.
- Lift door up and check clear hose leading to Smart Flo. If hose is empty with only some water in the tube connection between the Smart Flo tube and bottle dip tube is not correct. Pump is pulling air ( Pump will be loud when pulling air). Disconnect hose and reconnect to see if issue is resolved. The Smart Flo and dip tube ( SUB-C200724) should be replaced on annual basis. If pump will not prime Smart Flo must be replaced.
- If hose is filled with water and pump can’t be heard when dispense handle depressed pump may have failed. Locate a service tech to repair the unit. Electrical repairs should be completed by certified technicians.
Storm is dispensing two streams of water.
Most likely fix the blue latch under the top cover has popped open. Open top lid and check blue latch. If open push down to lock it which will resolve problem. In the event that the latch hook or catch is broken the top shelf assembly would need to be replaced. Complicated repair locate service technician.
Storm not dispensing hot water.
- Most probable cause high heat limiter has tripped. Locate small hole on bottom right of ID Plate located on rear of cool. In that hole is a gray silicone button. Push on it to reset set the high heat limiter. If limiter continues to trip may be indication of calcium build up in the hot tank that will require descaling of hot tank. Descaling procedures located in the service manual
- If water is still not hot contact a repair technician. He’ll need to test the high limit thermostat, thermostat, heating coil, and hot tank switch to determine which parts need to be replaced.
The blue light is flashing on front of unit.
Smart Flo needs replacement or was just replaced and blue light is flashing or continues to flash after Smart Flo replaced. To replace follow procedures provided with replacement Smart Flo. If light continues to flash unlatch Smart Flo lift and hold for minimum 15 seconds to reset Smart Flo circuit.
The red light continues to flash once new bottle has been installed.
If the system worked correctly until the bottle was replaced, the replacement bottle may have a taller concave area that won’t reset the light. Compare bottles.
A switch may have broken. To replace contact a repair technician.
